A Message from Dr. Champagne...

"This year's theme will be "Use of Cold Spray at the Point of Need" to demonstrate the portability of cold spray into remote locations other than the production floor. There is a growing need to develop, advance and integrate high-rate modular digital, analytical, and predictability additive manufacturing tools under a unified machine-learning platform to replace aged parts on current and legacy systems and equipment, particularly where replacements parts are no longer available from the original supplier or operational logistics are disrupted. This is especially true for the DoD and its Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). The outcomes must meet quality, performance, and affordability standards, which is a known challenge, for achieving additive manufacturing rapid certification and qualification readiness. Cold spray has shown to enable expeditionary agile manufacturing capabilities at or near the point of need."
